The preferred method is via email to the mailbox  - poolplant@swimming.org or alternatively to the IoS, SportPark, Pavilion 3, 3 Oakwood Drive, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 3QF. How do I buy vouchers to send my employees on to the Pool Plant course?

Through the www.theiosonline.com website. You will need to register as an organisation and then purchase a course voucher to allow your employee to book on. The employee will then need to register as an individual, book onto the course using the voucher. This is to ensure we can award them through the awarding organisation.

This will also mean you can be invoiced for the space. You will need a purchase order number/reference number to do this.

If you require any further assistance please call 01509 640 278 or 01509 640 135.

When will I find out my post course assignment mark/grade?

The Pool Plant programme courses are either a PASS or FAIL course. The employer steering group are moving away from grading vocational qualifications, so we are following this guidance.

You will receive an electronic certificate from IQL UK, awarding organisation of the RLSS UK within 4 weeks of the course end date. No certification will be processed until payment is successfully received for your course space to the IoS.

Will I be added automatically to CIMSPA's RoPPPs register on completion of the course as before?

The RoPPPs register is maintained by CIMSPA. The IoS send a list of awarded learners to CIMSPA monthly for CIMSPA to update the current RoPPPs register.

All the courses with dates I can attend are fully booked?

There are no courses near me?

We try to provide courses which can be accessible by most regions and in locations which have good transport links. If you would like a course nearer to you, please email us at poolplant@swimming.org and we can use our waiting lists to see if we can accommodate another course.

I have previously attended an alternative pool plant training course; such as Active IQ course or a PALM Swimming Pool Tech Operators certificate. Can I attend a Revalidation course or does it have to be another 3-day Pool Plant Course?

The National Pool Plant Operators Revalidation (RoPPPs update) course will only be refreshing and updating the knowledge you took from your initial course. As long as you meet the Revalidation course prerequisites, you are more than welcome to update using the revalidation course (RoPPP update).

Yes. You will need to send a copy of your doctor’s note to poolplant@swimming.org

If you have been contacted by the IoS and informed your work based assignment scored less than 70% (refer) you have TWO weeks to resubmit your assignment.

Using the assessor’s notes, amend and resubmit your assignment to the IoS using the mailbox poolplant@swimming.org

A fee of £35 is payable before your assignment will be sent for remarking. Click here to pay the refer fee

I have not received my Pool Plant Operator e-certificate to my email account?

We ask for all learners to register with the IoS using a personal email address. This is due to some organisation’s mail filters and this has resulted in IQL emails being redirected to spam/junk files. If you have registered with us using a work email address, please log into your IoS account to amend the email address. Please email poolplant@rlss.org.uk with your course details if you require a copy of your certificate.

Will I receive the course resources on the course or prior to the course?

You will have the ability to view the course resource digitally through your individual IoS account once the booking is complete. This digital resource will be available prior to the course and throughout the course. To view the resource; My IoS & log into account >My Courses tab > Courses > Upcoming courses > Click course title > Scroll to Resources section & click to download/view course resource. A hard copy resource will be provided to you on your course.

What file format should my assignment be saved as prior to sending to the IoS?

Your assignment should be either a Word document or a pdf file. If you use other programs to send your assignment such as Open office we will be unable to read these files. You can find a PDF printer online.

The IoS can receive assignments up to 12MB as an email attachment. You may have to send your assignment to us in multiple emails if larger than 12MB
