**Please note if you are part of a swimming club we have a club offer available on this course at £450. Please contact the IoS office on 01509 640640 or your local Swim England Club Development Officer. **

This course follows a blended learning approach where you will undertake the core units of the qualification via e-Learning. You will be granted access to the e-Learning core units workspace, hosted by our partner system PebblePad - an industry leading e-Portfolio system, from 13th July 2017 or before. All learners will recieve further instruction on 13th July 2017 on how to access and begin completing their e-Learning assessments.

You will be given until 10th August 2017 to complete your e-learning (this includes any referrals). We recommend you complete the e-learning 2 weeks prior to the face to face units, allowing one week for any referrals to be looked at, further instructions will follow prior to gaining access to the e-learning.

Description

The Swim England Synchronised Swimming Coach course is practical. It develops your knowledge, skills and abilities ahead of becoming an independent Synchronised Swimming coach.

The course is designed for anyone wishing to become an independent Synchronised Swimming coach.

The Swim England Synchronised Swimming Coach course gives coaches the skills needed to effectively and independently plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate a series of Synchronised Swimming training sessions.

This is a blended learning programme consisting of:

Online Learning

You will be expected to complete an on-line workbook prior to the face to face sessions of the course.  It is anticipated that this will take 15 - 20 hours to complete. 

You will need access to a computer/tablet and Internet access to complete your online learning. Click herefor more information about system requirements.

Face-to-Face Course

Up to 5 practical days (40 hours) with an experienced tutor during which you will put the theory that you have learnt into practice.
 

This certificate is endorsed by Swim England.

All coaching certificates are awarded electronically, via an e-certificate and through a third party organisation who are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and are accredited to both ISO 9001 (Quality Standard) and ISO 27001 (Information Security). If you require a hard copy of your certificate you can apply for this following receipt of your e-certificate.

Assessment

The purpose of assessment is to ensure that effective learning has taken place. In order to achieve this certificate you will be expected to complete a series of assessment tasks approved by Swim England including:

  • Theoretical questions
  • Session plans
  • Session overview
  • Observation record
  • Evaluation
  • Action plan
