Answers you have provided in this initial assessment can contribute to the submissions for the full certificate if you are accepted onto the programme.

You will have until the 21st of the current month to complete your initial assessment.

It is likely that it will take between 2 and 6 hours to fully complete the intial assessment.

No refund will be provided if it is deemed that the RPL programme is not the appropriate method of assessment for you.

Description

The RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) process  is an assessment only process which assumes that you already possess all of the necessary knowledge and skills to perform as an ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher.  It is aimed at those who are already operating in a swimming teaching role, but do not hold the current ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.

In order to ensure you are suitable for the RPL process you will need to complete an initial assessment that will be assessed by a dedicated assessor.

We will use the outcome of the initial assessment to inform your next steps, please note that you may be deemed not suitable for RPL and may be recommended to attend a face to face course.

No refund will be provided if it is deemed that the RPL programme is not the appropriate method of assessment for you.

Assessment

The initial assessment covers a few short written questions asking you to use your existing knowledge and experience to evidence your understanding of swimming teaching. You must fully explain during this process, what your previous and current teaching experience is as well as giving examples of how you have demonstrated the skills you have as a competent swimming teacher.

Important Information: The RPL Initial Assessments open for bookings for the first 2 weeks of each month. Access to complete the assessment is granted on the 15th of the month and you have until the 21st of the month to complete this. Your assessment will then be examined the following week and you will be notified of the decision. If you are deemed suitable for the programme, you will be asked to book onto the full RPL programme which is open for bookings between the 7th and 14th of every month.
