PLEASE NOTE You must be 18yrs or over for this Seminar.

PLEASE NOTE - If you have previously attended Safeguarding & Protecting  Children 1, in a face to face format, you are now able to access an online safeguarding course 'Renewal: Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport' which is an approved alternative for renewing teachers, coaches and volunteers. The course is a vibrant mix of video, challenging scenarios, case studies, quizzes and supportive feedback, ‘Renewal: Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport’ is an eLearning course that allows learners to update their understanding of safeguarding at a time to suit them.

The training is accessed through SCUK and is an eLearning module which has been deemed as acceptable by CPSU to be used for renewal, rather than doing the face to face course again.

The online course is not suitable for individuals who have no previous safeguarding training or are under 18.It is always important to check with your employer, club or NGB that they will accept this new course before booking. The IOS take no responsibility for bookings made which are then deemed not suitable. Please research this is the right course for you before enrolling.


Time of seminar: 12.30pm to 3.30pm in the Skyline Bar at Ponds Forge

’'As you will be aware, as of January 1st 2018, you are required to hold a valid safeguarding certificate in order to purchase a poolside accreditation. In anticipation of this, the Institute of Swimming is running this Safeguarding course during the Swim England National Winter Championships.’’

All learners must be booked on by the closing date 6.12.2017. Any bookings made after may incur a late booking fee and no learners will be accepted 48hours prior.


Protect yourself, the young people you are coaching and your employer by understanding and following good coaching practice. Learn about child protection and how to handle situations if you have concerns.
