Prerequisites

You must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the course.

  • You must be 18 years of age
  • You must hold a Swim England Diving Assistant (Coaching); an ASA Level 1 Award (QCF) in Coaching Diving, Level 1 Diving Assistant (Coaching) or equivalent
  • You must have a good level of English written and verbal communication skills
  • You will need to have coached diving in the last 3 months on a regular basis
  • You must be coaching for a minimum of 1 hour a week
  • You should be planning for and coaching recreational and squad divers in sessions of at least 45 minutes

Details

This is a Blended Learning programme which means that learners complete part of the theory units online, this work is assessed and then learners complete all e-learning elements prior to attending the face-to-face practical units at Plymouth Life Centre

Bookings for this course close on 17th April 2018. You will be able to begin your online learning from 18th April 2018. We will send you an email with details of how to begin this on or before 18th April 2018You will have until 72 hours before the first face to face date to successfully complete your online learning.

Description

The Swim England Diving Coach course is practical. It develops your knowledge, skills and abilities ahead of becoming an independent diving coach.

The Swim England Diving Coach course is for anyone wishing to become an independent diving coach.

This course gives coaches the skills needed to effectively and independently plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate a series of diving training sessions.

This is a blended learning programme consisting of:

Online Learning

You will be expected to complete an on-line workbook prior to the face to face sessions of the course.  It is anticipated that this will take 15 - 20 hours to complete. 

You will need access to a computer/tablet and Internet access to complete your online learning. Click herefor more information about system requirements.

Face-to-Face Course

Up to 5 practical days (40 hours) with an experienced tutor during which you will put the theory that you have learnt into practice.
 

This certificate is endorsed by Swim England.

All coaching certificates are awarded electronically, via an e-certificate and through a third party organisation who are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and are accredited to both ISO 9001 (Quality Standard) and ISO 27001 (Information Security). If you require a hard copy of your certificate you can apply for this following receipt of your e-certificate.

Assessment
