Description

The ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification is a practical qualification, which develops the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be a Swimming Teacher.

This qualification builds on the knowledge, skills and abilities developed in the ASA Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification. When achieved it ensures swimming teachers can effectively and independently plan, prepare, deliver, monitor and evaluate a series of swimming teaching lessons.

Learners will usually be given access to the online learning 7 weeks before the course begins. The online learning will be delivered via an i-learn and learners will be required to pass all questions before they can continue onto the course. We anticipate 25-30 hours to complete the online learning.

Assessment

Assessment is made up of a series of component parts:

  1. Theoretical questions
  2. Lesson plans
  3. Lesson overview
  4. Observation record
  5. Evaluation
  6. Action plan

Assessment is split into sections containing a number of questions

  • Assessment questions can be accessed in any order (within a section) through a question dashboard
  • Learners are given 2 attempts to answer each question. If learnrs are not successful in answering correctly they will be presented with an alternative question, however we would strongly advise to revisit content before attempting the alternative question
  • Learners needs to answer all questions in a section correctly before they can progress onto the next section
  • Learners can retake an entire section if necessary

Learners will also be required to complete 2 session plans after having completed the i-learn to take along to the face to face part of the course
