Course details

Level: Experienced

Duration: 4 weeks

Assessment Format: Online assessment by mapping your evidence against the relevant specification

RPL is a route you can take to gain an ASA Teaching Swimming Qualification or Swim England Coaching Certificate if you already possess the skills and knowledge needed. This means that you don’t need any tutor support, mentoring, delivery or learning resources. You will need to provide relevant and sufficient evidence against the criteria laid out in the qualification specification.

This process can prove to be time consuming as you will need to familiarise yourself with the specification and then map your evidence against it. This then needs to be uploaded onto our online assessment platform, PebblePad.

Those who decide to join RPL are given 4 weeks to gather their evidence and upload it to their workspace. There is no guarantee that the full qualification will be gained through RPL. Individuals will still need to provide evidence that meets the required ASA Awarding Body or Swim England standards. If the required standard is not met alternative options will be suggested which may have costs attached.
